Hey there! My name is Georgie Balogun and thank you for visiting my website! I am a sophomore studying Public Health and Chemistry at Brandeis University. I am a Posse Scholar part of BSP 16 along with 11 amazing people. After college, I hope to go to medical school (God willing) and become a doctor. Another dream of mine is to do research, so let’s see how God works in my life!
I come from a family of six with two older sisters and a twin brother named George. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but I live in Queens. My parents are from Ivory Coast and Nigeria and I hope to travel there some day to get to know my family there.
During my free time, I like to do whatever piques my interest–which changes a lot. Sometimes I’m playing the piano because I absolutely love how smooth it sounds, though other times I could be watching international shows and movies because I love accents. A majority of the time, however, I’m learning either French or ASL because I want to learn a new language. I also grew up playing a lot of sports, so during my free time if I’m not playing basketball with my friends, then I’m doing something to stay active.
I’m a Christian! My family is Christian and I grew up going to church a lot with them, but it wasn’t until recently that I actually started pursuing God. I realized his love for all of us despite us being undeserving of it due to our shortcomings, so I try remember this throughout my walk of faith and share this amazing news with others. I’ve been blessed to have met many of my now friends who are also followers of Christ and I only hope that I can continue to meet more.
